SS Nylock Nut

SS Nylock Nut

Stainless steel nylock nuts per DIN 985 / ISO 7040 are prevailing torque hexagon nuts with a polyamide insert that resists loosening under vibration. Available in A2 and A4 grades, they provide reliable, removable vibration-resistant connections for moderate-temperature applications up to 120°C.

Benefits #

Nylock nuts address vibration-induced loosening in bolted joints through a polyamide insert that deforms around the mating thread, creating radial friction independent of clamping force. This prevailing torque action maintains joint integrity under cyclic loading, shock, and vibration without requiring external locking hardware. The self-contained design reduces assembly part count compared to separate lock washers. Stainless steel A2 and A4 construction provides corrosion resistance in atmospheric, marine, and chemical environments. For applications below 120°C, nylock nuts offer a cost-effective locking solution with good reusability across multiple installation cycles. The smooth stainless surface meets hygienic requirements in food processing and pharmaceutical equipment.

Common Applications #

Stainless steel nylock nuts are used wherever vibration-resistant, removable threaded connections are required.
